Jimmy Tsai  /  Poster Artist

Jimmy grew up in the art industry. When he studied MFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art University, with American culture and his innate rebellious personality, Jimmy transferred his specialty from comic illustration to screen printing technology. His artworks combine religion, mythology, character stories, and deep local culture, trying to illustrate the conflict between modern society, human lightness, and the dark parts of the hearts. Jimmy was deeply influenced by the world’s greatest decorative artist, the New York Times report, Alphonse Mucha, and the well-known pop art artist Andy Warhol. He extensively used screen printing technology and creative practices in poster art. He slowly released poster art creations from the West Coast of the United States comics’ exhibitions or fairs, such as Wondercon and Comiccon, to gain popularity.  After returning to Taiwan, hoping to continue to use innovative art techniques to break the stereotypes of posters and people.

Breeze Shih  /  Watercolor Illustrator

Breeze Shih, who is quirky and self-seeking, graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with an MFA in illustration, combined with her bachelor’s degree in the Department of Fashion Styling and Design at Shih Chien University, through watercolor to show women’s feelings about fashion in modern society. She declared that the combination of fashion and art could be traced long ago. Art creation and fashion circles uniquely influence each other in fashion design or runway show design. However, Breeze is not limited to fashion illustrations and is also delighted to create different types of artwork. In mid-2020, she cooperated with AQUAGEN to release the urban series of deep ocean sparkling water. Now, she returns to the University as a lecturer in the Department of Fashion Styling and Design Communication and continues cooperating with many brands, including Noseway Perfume and COM’HOUSE.

Hung-Ying Lee  /  Abstract Artist

Hung-Ying Lee grew up in a conservative family, and made the most lovely thing about contemporary painting for her was that it was filled with a repressed force that desired to get rid of and break through the constraints of tradition. She paid particular attention to deviant emotional expressions and the visual experience of creating pictures purely by totem piecing. The Fauvist Matisse influenced her earliest creative concepts and directions. During her stay in the United States, the department training brought her a more solid foundation in painting. Living in San Francisco, where art development was independent of world trends, her creative state had changed. She had absorbed elements of the San Francisco Bay Area figurative style, and flowing brushstrokes and her works’ unique shape began to wander. She gradually completed the current type of work. Hung-Ying Lee’s expression techniques in her creation often use the motion sensor of movie footage to drive narrative and absurd plots and reflect the uncontrollable factors of reality and objective state with the cold emotions detached from the world.

Happy Bird Days /  Pop Art Illustrator

Happy Bird Days hopes to paint a youthful and vibrant color in everyone’s heart. His family has been distributed worldwide since he was a child, and he often travels to and from China, which gave him a different worldview. Compared with the lifestyle of looking for a job, after graduation, he pursued his inner feelings more than ever on the creation and took some cases to pay for all his expenses. He deeply understood that work was not the focus of life. It was just a tool to support life. If he spent too much time on it and forgot the dreams, he wondered if happiness also left. In the creation, he would use the fantasy stories he observed and repeated patterns and bright colors as expression techniques to give people a feeling of psychedelic space! He imagined the best way to find oneself was to leave reality first. In the paintings, the characters of the same style and different colors represent different roles. He wants to show that although we may be pretty inconspicuous in life, we are also exceptional. Happy Bird Days hopes to convey such a message with simple and joyful paintings!

Alice Tsai  /  Abstract Artist

Alice is a freelance artist originally from Taichung city, Taiwan. With a social activist background associated with movements for Taiwan independence, legalizing gay marriage, and environmental protection, her rebellious side eventually urged her to move to San Francisco in 2016 to attend the Academy of Art University and graduate with a dual MFA degree. Diving deeper into art therapy and psychology, my biggest wish is to comfort people with my art. Alice has taught in different creative fields for seven years, including literature, languages, singing, modern dancing, and drawing. She was fortunate to have opportunities to teach calligraphy, origami, Chinese chess, and traditional Asian dancing in the only conventional characters Mandarin school in Paris, L’Encrier Chinois, in ICEC (International Cultural Exchange Center) after-school program in Millbrae, and East Art Studio in Sunset in California. Immersing in different art forms in other countries enriched her path, and Alice would like to give back to people.

Akira Zheng  /  Photographer

Akira Zheng is the executed director of a studio and had an MFA in production track at Shih Hsin University and a double major in early childhood education and fine art at the University of Taipei. He thought that in the journey of photography, there must be a process of organizing self-awareness. How to choose to use cold eyes or perceptual imaging to retain the scenery he wanted was the progress that must be entangled. He declared that polar reality but full of urban poetry was the perspective of his ways of observing the world and language. He wished to become a shadow and pass through every corner of the world. “I am everywhere, yet I am not everywhere too. Using every second, I breathe to image the picture on the silver salt.” he often said. “Ready to shoot at any time” was the dogma he pursued in street photography, prepared to welcome the arrival of every unique light and shadow. Akira thought that using the utmost rationality to frame the ruthless passage of time was the romance he had strived for all his life.

Yu-Ting Zheng  / Illustrator

Yu-Ting liked to draw and music by nature. When she was about two years old, her mom bought non-toxic crayons and colored pencils to draw, which started her career path. Yu-Ting painted, played the piano, and played the viola since her childhood. She drew a diary and a hand account in the first grade of elementary school, which recorded her life. Since then, she has used pieces of her life as material to create her works of art, even if the item wasn’t everyday things that had admitted by the culture of Taiwan. En route, Yu-Ting did not attend art classes or take technical art lessons. She learned to paint by looking at videos on YouTube, and her ideas appeared most of the time, which she didn’t even think about. She felt that no matter what age people were, anyone could express their inner self through drawing, and there were no standards in the art that could make people relax and happier than before. What’s more, if people like to draw, then draw!
